The Second Annual Kid's Arctic Art Contest
 Deadline extended!!
Call for entries. Submissions are now being accepted at the town library and online. One entry per person. You can E-mail your artwork as a .jpg, .gif or .png file. Include your name, age, the name and medium of your entry to:

This contest is open to to all school aged children age 5 to 18 who are residents of Churchill Manitoba. All skill levels and ages welcome to participate! All mediums welcome. Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Etching, Crafts, Photography and Collage.
Closing date for submissions is May 19th 2012.
Everyone worldwide are invited to vote (once) for their favorite drawing online.
Online voting will open May 21st.
Polls close May 31st 2012.

Winners will be announced On June 1st 2012. The entry with the most votes will be the recipient of the first annual kid's arctic art incentive award. If you would like to show your art at Art Night, contact the coordinators for details or call 204 675 2278.
Prizes will be taylored to the winner's medium and skill level of choice. Prize and award opportunities are available to students age 5-18. Awards will be presented during the 2012 Graduation Ceremonies.
 Simple Art Stand - for displaying works on paper.
Use the template here to make your own art stand. Choose the size of stand that will support your art. Cut out the shape seen here in corrugated cardboard. The smooth side of a cardboard box will work. Score (press not cut) a line down the center of your stand using the blunt object (like the lid of a pen) and a ruler. Bend your stand on the score line. Place your stand upright on your table. Using tape (on the back) or small pins, mount your art on a flat piece of cardboard cut to the size of your art. Place mounted art on the stand. Your stand can also be painted or covered to compliment your art.

 Contest Rules
On a 8.5x11 paper create a black and white pencil drawing of your favorite animal.
One entry per person. Open to residence of Churchill Manitoba grades 4 -12 within the age of 9-18.
Closing Date for Entries May 15th 2011
Prize - $50.00cn
On the back of your drawing, or on a separate paper,
include your name, age, the name and date of your drawing. Only the title of your entry and your age will be posted with your art. Names remain private. E-mail your artwork as a .jpg, .gif or .png file to: kids_arctic_art@kimhunter.ca
